NATURAL.  MINIMAL.  ORGANIC.

At Brotherton's Botanicals, we believe that the optimum approach to beauty and health is one in accord with the body's intrinsic relationship to the natural world.  The roots, the leaves, and the flowers have the answers.  As we witness the land's remarkable ability to nourish, repair, and protect itself, we gain an understanding of how it nurtures us.  As we respect its life, it gives us ours... a simple symbiosis.

This magnificent and fundamental relationship feels magical.  But you don't have to be a mystic to comprehend it.  We can all participate.  Nature is an impartial benefactor and does not discriminate when offering its gifts.  Whether you live in the city, the country, or anywhere in between, Brotherton's Botanicals has made it our mission to provide you with a clean, green, healthy way to be your best, beautiful self.

FOUNDING

None of us leads a perfect life with perfect balance. We all need help sometimes. With the right aid, we can develop habits, rituals, and practices that bring us closer to finding equilibrium and wholeness.  Living in New York City, founder Michelle Brotherton knew many people concerned with putting healthy and organic foods inside their bodies, but they were inattentive to caring for their outsides in the same way.  She wanted to repair the disconnect.

Michelle began making products for friends and family: chefs & bartenders at a Michelin-starred restaurant, urban farmers, actors, guitar-players, expectant mothers, marathon runners, and everyone else who needed.  As the requests continued and increased, she decided to make it a business.

In 2013, Michelle began studying herbalism while researching a character for a novel. She holds a Master in Fine Arts in Writing from Columbia University and is still working on the final draft of that book. Almost instantly she knew she had begun a journey of learning from the plants that would continue for the rest of her life. She is a member of both the American Herbalists Guild and United Plant Savers.

We honor the herbalists, the elders, the wise women and men and their teachings. Without them we could not exist. Together, we are all stewards of the earth.
